About Valley True
Who we are
Valley True is run by two people: Chad Smither and Tom Carnes. We're based in California's Central Valley — that's where the name comes from — and we sell gifts for dads.
That's the whole company. There's no call center and no marketing department. If you email or call, one of us answers.
Why we do this
Between us we've spent a long time in sales and customer service, which mostly taught us what a bad buying experience feels like from the other side of the counter. Valley True is our attempt at the opposite: a small shop where you can tell exactly who you're buying from and reach a human on the first try.
How we actually operate
We're a small operation, not a warehouse. We choose products from a short list of suppliers, and most orders ship directly from the supplier to you. That keeps our costs down and means we're not sitting on inventory we have to move.
It also means shipping takes a little longer than same-day. The estimate on each product page is the real one.
Our catalog is about two dozen products, not two thousand. We'd rather drop something than keep it on the site just because it occasionally sells.
Straight answers
- Shipping: flat $11 anywhere in the US. Free over $75.
- Where we ship: United States only, for now.
- If something goes wrong: call or email. If it shows up damaged, wrong, or not what the page promised, we fix it — that's on us, not you.
- Reviews: we don't have customer reviews on the site yet. We're a new store, and we'd rather show none than show ones we wrote ourselves.
